Vision Peoples in Mission (VPM) is a non-profit, charitable Christian organisation registered in Kenya. VPM exists to help Kenyans who are disadvantaged and poverty stricken by meeting their practical, medical and spiritual needs. As the Bible says in Daniel 11:32, “the people who know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” VPM is a Faith Ministry - it relies on God to provide for the work through the generosity of those who know and love Him.

We have four objectives :

  1. To reach out to the destitute and disadvantaged in Kenyan society as the helper. To rescue and redeem people to better lives, spiritually, socially and economically to the Glory of God.
  2. To establish ways and means of encouraging people to participate in educational and socio-economic programmes and development activities for self-sustainability.
  3. To provide guidance and counselling to a hurting society overcome by helplessness.
  4. To meet people’s spiritual needs by offering a vibrant Christian worshipping community in the centre of socio-economic difficulties.

Our work is based in Korogocho, a slum based around Nairobi’s rubbish dump. Here, VPM offers primary education for street children, an orphanage, a clinic, a vocational training programme and a church.

Although we are currently dependent upon support from overseas we are trying to develop sustainable local income by renting out apartments we have built in Lucky Summer, on the edge of Nairobi, and by building a second apartment block to provide more income.  In Maseno, another block of flats provides us with income. These flats are mainly used by university students.

VPM needs friends who would support their work: financially, in prayer, or by considering a missions trip
